The goal of this aerial total and sample censuses was to establish a national baseline of wet season wildlife population status and distribution in Kenya.
The census was done and report compiled by Kenya Wildlife Service.
Towards achievement of the Global Biodiversity Framework Targets
The WDPA and WD-OECM are aggregated datasets of the best available data from many sources. It is a joint product of UN Environment Programme and IUCN, managed by UNEP-WCMC. It is used for multiple conservation purposes, as well as providing support to the Convention on Biological Diversity and the United Nations relating to environmental sustainability and reporting on progress towards internationally-agreed environmental targets.
Unless otherwise stated, this dataset is being provided ‘free of restrictions’1. We, the undersigned, agree and understand that by providing data for inclusion in the WDPA and/or WD-OECM it will be viewable and downloadable in accordance with the WDPA Terms and Conditions through websites operated by UNEP-WCMC and IUCN, utilised for analyses, and re-distributed to third parties for use on other platforms[1].
